Writing and Editing with Love: Jessica Verdi

On Wednesday, December 4, Jessica Verdi (MFA WCYA alum) sat down with Caron Levis (Faculty) to discuss her process for writing books for children and young adults and editing adult books in romance, romantasy, historical fiction and more. She discussed balancing life as an editor with her career as a writer, working with books for different ages and genres, and the power of putting your heart into your writing amidst an industry filled with challenges.

Jessica is the author of Follow Your Arrow, I’m Not a Girl, And She Was, What You Left Behind, The Summer I Wasn’t Me, and My Life After Now. She earned her MFA in Writing for Children from The New School, and she is currently Senior Editor at Alcove Press and Crooked Lane Books, where she acquires, edits, and publishes romance, romantasy, upmarket book club fiction, historical fiction, horror, and thriller.
