Sharon Mesmer’s first collection follows the 1998 publication of her first book of poems, Half Angel, Half Lunch, which Allen Ginsberg called “beautifully bold and vivaciously modern.” Her work has appeared in such publications as New American Writing, Lingo, The World, and Poets & Writers, and she has performed widely, including appearances in Paris, Prague and Japan. She has won fellowships from the New York Foundation for the Arts, Fundacion Valparaiso, Hawthornded Castle (Scotland) and the MacDowell Colony. A native of Chicago and now a resident of Brooklyn, she teaches literature and writing at The New School and is English-language editor of American Book Jam, a Japanese literary magazine.
